The Founder's Journey

My journey to studying in the United States began in a small town in northern Croatia. As a first-generation college student, I had a dream that at times felt far bigger than the resources and information available to me.
More than five years ago, I made the decision to apply to universities in the United States and took it upon myself to learn everything I could about navigating the admissions process. From researching universities and understanding the American application system to preparing my applications and making one of the biggest decisions of my life, I experienced firsthand just how complex and overwhelming the process can be, especially when applying from a place where those around you may not fully understand the journey you are embarking on.
After months of working on and continuously refining 23 applications, that journey eventually led me to UCLA.
Moving from Croatia to Los Angeles was far more than attending university. It meant adapting to a new country, a new academic system, and a completely new way of life. At UCLA, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Psychology and Communication and spent two years working as an Academic Peer Counselor, supporting fellow students as they navigated their own academic journeys.
My time abroad shaped me into who I am today, and I often think back to the decision I made more than five years ago: that I would apply to universities in the United States and simply “see what happens.” I could never have imagined how much that one decision would change my life. My experience taught me how much can become possible when students are provided with the right information, guidance, and encouragement, and how difficult it can be to navigate such an important process alone.
That is why I created Via Ad Astra by LT.
Via Ad Astra was founded on the belief that no dream is too ambitious and no path is impossible. Having once been a student in Croatia wondering whether studying at a university like UCLA was truly within reach, I understand the value of having someone who believes in your potential and can help you turn ambition into a clear, actionable plan.
Today, my goal is to provide students from around the world with the guidance, support, and strategic insight I wish I had when I first began my own journey. From the earliest stages of exploring opportunities in the United States to navigating the path toward university admission, I am committed to helping each student approach the process with greater clarity and confidence.
My journey began with a dream to reach beyond what seemed possible. Now, through Via Ad Astra, I hope to help others do the same.
